User Options

Once you have a SmartCal ID, there are certain options you can set in your SmartCal environment to tune it to the way you want to see it. You can always click on the options button in the menu bar to change your settings.

There is an edit personal profile button where you can change all your personal information, such as email address, phone numbers, and the like. Some of these settings let you get more out of the system, like being offered driving directions when we have your home address.

Perhaps the most important option is selecting your time zone. Time zones are listed in time order, so it should be easy to find the right zone.

Your default view is the view that any given calendar will appear in when you go to it. Views are such things as daily, weekly, monthly, and so forth.

The start hour is the earliest time that appears on your calendar. If you get up early or late, just change the start hour to suit you.

The end hour is similar to the start hour, except that it is the latest time that will appear on your calendars.

The hour increment is the interval between times listed on your calendar. Of course, events that do not begin at these rigid times still appear on your calendars.

The event reminders will send you email containing the events on all of your calendars if checked. You can then decide at what interval, or intervals, you'd like to receive the email -- daily, weekly, and/or monthly. And lastly, you can receive the email in plain text or in HTML format.

There are also a few checkboxes you can select if you want to receive SmartCal news and promotions.

Likely you will not need to change your options very often, but you always can. In the future, it is likely that new options and preferences will appear.
