SmartCal provides a free calendaring and event sharing system. To begin with, you will need to sign up and get a SmartCal ID to fully use the system. Getting an ID is easy and fast -- all you need is an email address. Your ID and password also keeps your information secure.

The sign up process will ask you various things, most of which is entirely optional. It is there simply to enhance your calendar experience should you wish to do so. Never fear, you can always change your settings later.

With your ID, you will also automatically get a personal calendar where you can immediately begin to schedule all kinds of events.
