What's New
Wireless SmartCal is here!
September 28, 2000. (San Jose, CA) SmartCalendar,
Inc. (www.smartcal.com) today announced that it had released a wireless-enabled
upgrade to both the SmartCal hosted and client hosted versions of
its calendar communications platform. The new release allows end
users of SmartCal's web site, enterprise, and Application Service
Provider (ASP) customers to access their schedules directly through
any cell phone or other device supporting the Wireless Application
Protocol (WAP), an emerging standard for wireless devices. In addition,
any end user can receive text reminders and event notifications
and updates directly into their wireless device via the Short Messaging
Service (SMS) technology.
"With this new technology, our customers can guarantee
to their end users that they will be reminded of any event that
is important to them, wherever they are, even if they are not at
a computer," said Don Fowler, CEO of SmartCalendar. "Last-minute
changes to event schedules are directly accessible as well, so that
if someone is attending an event and checks for new information
posted about that event, they can do this from their car or while
standing in a crowd in the middle of a city."
If you are a company considering SmartCal as a
technology supplier, you can test SmartCal's wireless capability
for yourself using any WAP-enabled cell phone. Just enter the address
www.smartcal.com into your phone!
